A new name for a new life? For the 2025 season, l’Écluse Saint-Michel is taking a shortcut and becoming simply l’Écluse. Another change: a menu that focuses on seafood and local produce. What hasn’t changed (much to our delight): a lovely shaded terrace and an exceptional view of Toulouse and the Garonne. Head for the tip of the Île du Ramier, where the Saint-Michel and Halage de Tounis bridges meet – for a moment out of time in this charming ephemeral restaurant.
L’Écluse, our gourmet spot with a summer view
Open seven days a week from midday to midnight, L’Écluse offers delicious, carefully prepared gastronomy (salmon tartare gravlax, grilled squid tentacles…). Carnivores are not left out: on the à la carte menu, meat lovers can enjoy a 350-gram grilled entrecôte, the Écluse burger or a ThaÏ tartare. For party-goers, l’Écluse also offers evening aperitifs and nibbles overlooking the Garonne (we love it!). The tapas menu will be hard to choose from: hummus, tarama, padron pimientos, burrata, mussels a la plancha… The tables are already set!

While the menu at this short-lived restaurant is superb, it’s the terrace that’s the star of the show! Its perfect location and breathtaking views over the Garonne and Prairie des Filtres have quickly made it an unmissable summer spot.
And to further satisfy our craving for freshness: whelks, wild shrimps, oysters, whole lobsters and fish are all served with a glass of chilled white wine. Whether it’s a cocktail party with friends, a meal with colleagues or dinner with the family, you’ve got it: we’re spending our summer at l’Écluse!
