It’s resounding news: it ‘s Toulouse’s fireworks display that has been chosen to be broadcast live on the TF1 news channel on July 13, 2024. Big shows, stars in the eyes, concerts… Here’s what’s in store for you for the Fête nationale. But where are the best places in Toulouse to watch the fireworks on July 13, 2024? We tell you all about it.
Why will the Bastille Day fireworks take place on July 13 instead of July 14, 2024?
From 11.45pm on July 13th, the whole of France can admire the fireworks display in Toulouse, which, as tradition dictates, kicks off the Fête nationale (national holiday) to be celebrated the following day. Contrary to popular belief, it’s not uncommon for fireworks displays to take place on July 13 rather than July 14.
As Toulouse mayor Jean-Luc Moudenc explains, this choice was made to “preserve the peace and quiet of local residents”. Toulousans will therefore be able to enjoy their Sunday July 14th to the full, and be fresh and ready for July 15th. In an X post, the mayor of the pink city also says that the “Toulouse: le grand feu d’artifice” show is “a great source of pride that we’ll be able to share together!”.
The best places to see fireworks in Toulouse
There are many places in Toulouse from which to admire the beautiful spectacle of fireworks. But some places offer exceptional views. These include Pont-Neuf, Pont Saint-Michel, Prairie des Filtres and Quai de Tounis. The banks of the Garonne are also a great place to admire the pyrotechnic displays that mark the Fête nationale.
This year’s fireworks display over the Garonne will pay tribute to Claude Nougaro to mark the 20th anniversary of his death. On July 14, 2024, a fireworks display will also be launched from the reynerie lake. So, are you ready for the show?
