According to a survey recently published by the very serious Forbes magazine, only 1% of people who have made good resolutions manage to keep them until the following year. For the others, we manage to keep them for an average of 3 months. With this in mind, and in order to avoid another failure in 2025, we decided to concoct a list of 5 good resolutions made especially by Toulousans. We’d like to warn you, though, that some will be harder to keep than others!

Stop correcting people when they say pain au chocolat instead of chocolatine
We know, when it comes down to it, we’re the ones who are right. And yes, even historians have proved that the correct name is chocolatine, not pain au chocolat. But in 2025 , we’ve decided to be nice and let people get it wrong. Raising your eyes to the sky is still allowed.

Drive a little better
Sporty, risky, even dangerous… There are many adjectives and pet names to describe driving in Toulouse. Of course, we don’t drive as badly as the 33, 64 or 66 license plates… But if we could make a little effort (especially when it’s raining), a lot of people would appreciate it.

Be more punctual
All our watches are set to a very precise time, including the famous Toulouse quarter-hour. Our relationship with time is so strange that in Toulouse there’s even a clock with a dial showing 24 hours. Because yes, the pink city is synonymous with gentleness, and taking one’s time is an art of living. But for the sanity of our non-occitan friends, we’re making a little effort to get here on time.

Finally admitting that cassoulet comes from Castelnaudary
The culinary specialties of Toulouse and the South-West region are the envy of many. While it’s true that cassoulet includes Toulouse sausage, this dish, which is the pride of the Occitan region, actually comes from Castelnaudary. So let’s give credit where credit is due.
