Presented by Nai’a Village, this event plunges you into the age-old art of Chinese lanterns, but not only. You’ll also enjoy a magical outdoor trail, live entertainment and gourmet delights. It’s the perfect opportunity for a memorable getaway with family and friends to brighten up your winter evenings!
“L’Éveil des Lanternes” plunges you into a world of lights and Chinese myths
The ancestral art of Chinese lanterns – a symbol of peace and prosperity for over 2,000 years – invites itself to the shores of the Mediterranean. Over 4,000 lanterns and some 30 monumental ensembles have been brought together for “L’Éveil des Lanternes”. The seven-hectare site is a veritable open-air stage. You’ll discover monumental structures, legendary animals and traditional scenes from Chinese culture.

This is the perfect marriage of ancestral Chinese craftsmanship (silk, bamboo, oiled paper) and modern technology (LEDs, fiber optics, holographic effects). You’ll enter a glittering universe designed as an immersive experience. Prepare to encounter giant dragons with glittering scales and magical creatures floating in the half-light. The tone is set as soon as you enter the spectacular “Tunnel of Lanterns“!
What to expect at this event
The experience doesn’t stop with the light installations! The event is a real all-round rendezvous that will ensure you have a great time from start to finish. On the one hand, the Théâtre des Merveilles hosts the artistic highlights. You’ll be treated to traditional Chinese dances and scenes from Asian operas. You can also admire drone shows featuring the Dragon and the Phoenix, symbols of good fortune. For a more festive atmosphere, fireworks will punctuate Chinese New Year (February 17) and December 31.

During your visit, you’ll also find the “Coin Gourmand” with some twenty food and beverage chalets. Want to take home a souvenir? The “Village des Artisans” showcases the work of local creators. The youngest visitors are not left out, with workshops dedicated to them. They can try their hand at sugar painting, calligraphy or Chinese paper-cutting. On the practical side, the Nai’a Village offers 450 free parking spaces and provides access for disabled people on the entire route. So, are you ready to book your tickets for “L’Éveil des Lanternes”?
