We’re not telling you anything new when we say that the Occitanie region has many strings to its bow. And when it comes to gastronomy, this is all the more true. But in concrete terms? The region’s 13 départementsare home to no fewer than 260 products with official quality labels: AOP, IGP, Agriculture Biologique, Label Rouge… one of the highest densities in France. Bleu d’Auvergne, Roquefort, Noix du Périgord, Châtaigne des Cévennes, Pruneaux d’Agen, Canard à foie gras du Sud-Ouest, Porc du Limousin, Jambon noir de Bigorre, Muscat, Cahors, Pic Saint-Loup… enough to slightly accelerate the heart rate of any epicurean. As we all know, here, feasting is a verb as important as breathing or sleeping: essential. It’s no coincidence, then, that so many producers are coming together from December 12 to 14 to celebrate their love of good food and, ultimately, good living. So join the feast, for it’s shaping up to be a grand affair.
