Almost a third of French people sleep less than six hours a night, which is detrimental to energy and concentration. Inspired by a Japanese concept, Sixta is Toulouse’s first siesta restaurant. Located at 28 rue Bayard (a stone’s throw from the allées Jean-Jaurès), it offers a vegetarian restaurant, a tea room and, above all, six unique cocoons for napping. We love this restaurant in Toulouse, where you can have a siesta in two warm, zen spaces.
A good siesta at Sixta, this unusual restaurant in Toulouse
Isn’t a good meal worth a nap? After all, isn’t it said that a short sleep helps digestion? At Sixta, everything has been thought out for those who wish to relax in total serenity after their lunch. Faced with the hectic pace of city life, the body sometimes needs to slow down, and Sixta understands this. In addition to its vegetarian and organic menu, the place offers real nap cocoons that are both designer and comforting.

Even if the concept is well known, the idea of sleeping in a restaurant still comes as a surprise. Yet there’s nothing dormitory about it here: opposite the bar, the dining room has a natural feel, with wood, green plants and soft lighting. The third floor is home to four cocoons as enveloping as they are cozy. Four formulas are available:
- The classic siesta (€6)
- The musical siesta (€8) guided by a relaxing voice
- The fakir nap (10 €) on an acupressure mat
- Hypnotic nap (12 €) combining sounds and flashes to promote relaxation
The recommended resting time is around 25 minutes, but it all depends on your needs. Some travelers take advantage of these cocoons between two trains: conveniently, the address is just a stone’s throw from the station.
A gourmet, ethical restaurant in the Pink City
The lower floors are used for lunchtime dining, followed by a tea room until 4pm. The menu is vegetarian, featuring organic, local and seasonal produce. The plates are colorful, creative and full of flavor. And no one is forgotten: the restaurant also offers vegan, lactose-free, gluten-free and raw options, to suit everyone’s needs.

For afternoon gourmets, the tea room offers a refined selection of homemade pastries, fragrant infusions and drinks from elsewhere. It’s the perfect place to spend a moment out of time before getting back on track.
