It’s the summer rendezvous that Toulousans who haven’t gone on holiday love. After Claude Nougaro last year, the theme of this year’s fireworks display is the Tour de France. Big shows, stars in the eyes, France’s biggest free concert… Here’s what’s in store for the Fête nationale. But where are the best places in Toulouse to admire the fireworks on July 13, 2025? We tell you all about it.
Why will the Fête Nationale fireworks take place on July 13 instead of July 14, 2025?
From 10.30pm on Sunday July 13, the whole of France will be able to admire the fireworks display in Toulouse, which, as tradition dictates, will kick off the Fête Nationale celebrations on the following day. Contrary to popular belief, it’s not unusual for fireworks displays to take place on July 13th rather than July 14th.
As the Mayor of Toulouse, Jean-Luc Moudenc, explains, this choice is intended to “preserve the peace and quiet of local residents”. Toulousans will therefore be able to take full advantage of their Monday, July 14, 2025 (a public holiday), to watch the military parade which will leave from the rue Ozenne at 11am.

The best places to see the fireworks in Toulouse
There are many places in Toulouse from which to admire the beautiful fireworks display. But some places offer an exceptional vantage point compared to others. These include the Pont-Neuf, the Pont Saint-Michel, the Prairie des Filtres and the Quai de Tounis. The banks of the Garonne also offer a privileged vantage point from which to admire the pyrotechnic displays that mark the Fête Nationale. But they’re often overrun by Toulousans. And yes, everyone knows this “good plan”. We therefore advise you to get there early if you hope to find a good spot.
Interesting alternatives include the rooftop of Ma Biche sur le Toit. Getting some height is always a good idea. But the best deal of the year comes from the Turbine guinguette. For €65, enjoy a 6-hand menu (two of the chefs are “meilleurs ouvriers de France”) with a breathtaking view of the fireworks!
This year, the fireworks display over the Garonne River pays tribute to the Tour de France, which starts and finishes in Toulouse on July 16. So, are you ready for the show?
