Christmas is fast approaching, and if you’re looking for the perfect escape from the Ville Rose, we’ve found the perfect place. Imagine a place where enchantment comes to life with thousands of lights and a monumental nativity scene. These magical moments take place every year at the Fééries d’Aniane, a not-to-be-missed event that takes place from early December to early January in the charming commune of Aniane, near Montpellier.
During this magical getaway, you’ll discover France’s largest Christmas crib and its many attractions. A perfect getaway for the whole family, without having to travel too far from Toulouse!
How to visit France’s largest Christmas crib from Toulouse?
It’s time to plan your winter getaway! First of all, the commune of Aniane is located in the Hérault region of France. In concrete terms, you’ll need to allow about 2h30 to drive there from the city of Toulouse. Take the A61 freeway towards Narbonne. Then follow the A9 towards Montpellier. What’s more, once you’ve arrived, parking is generally easy close to the Fééries site. The journey is well worth it, as you’ll pass through typical Languedoc-Roussillon landscapes!

However, if you prefer to travel without a car, that’s perfectly possible! The train is a good alternative for getting from Toulouse to Montpellier (Gare Saint-Roch), then taking a local bus to Aniane. The total journey takes around 4h30. It’s longer, but well worth the trip!
