August is shaping up to be a busy month for star-lovers! On August 1, 2 and 3 , 2025, the Nuit des Étoiles festival returns to Toulouse to amaze young and old alike. This not-to-be-missed event offers astronomy fans a unique opportunity to admire shooting stars and planets and explore the mysteries of the universe. La Nuit des Étoiles in Toulouse: an astronomical evening at the Jolimont observatory
In Toulouse, the Société d’Astronomie Populaire, based at the Jolimont observatory, has an evening full of discoveries in store for you. From 9:00 p.m. on Friday August 1 only, immerse yourself in the fascinating history of this observatory with a guided tour of the domes. The evening will be punctuated by a lecture recounting the history of the observatory, followed by a guided observation of the night sky.
Astronomy enthusiasts can also enjoy an exhibition on the solar system and watch a spectacular demonstration of the Foucault pendulum, an experiment that demonstrates the Earth’s rotation. These activities will run until 01:00 a.m., offering a full night of astronomical immersion.
The Cité de l’espace takes you on a journey
For Starry Night, head to the Cité de l’espace, open from 8pm to midnight in its illuminated gardens.Enjoy astronomical observations, planetarium sessions and the IMAX film dedicated to the James Webb telescope.
